After boarding a comfortable minivan you will reach the picturesque fishing village of Camogli, formerly the site of bustling shipyards that helped build one of the world’s greatest merchant fleets and today a charming seaside resort area that attracts thousands of visitors every year. Camogli’s original medieval setting was centered around a local parish church built on an island that was once completely detached from the mainland. Today, it is connected to the mainland thanks to a square surrounded by colorful buildings, including one of the Italian coast’s most beautiful Baroque churches. The colors, the characteristic houses, its opulent villas and majestic hotels have painted something similar to a magical reflection around the Gulf of Camogli, also known as Golfo Paradiso (Gulf of Heaven). The guided tour will be followed by a typical tasting of white wine and focaccia al formaggio (thin layers of a special puff pastry stuffed with melting cream cheese). Free time for strolling around will be given before returning to your minivan and head back to your hotel.
