We start our walk together discovering Florence begins at the Galleria dell’Accademia, which houses seven masterpieces of Michelagelo, to appreciate the extraordinary beauty and majesty of the David, the four unfinished “Prigioni”, the second of his famous “Pieta”, and other unfinished works, sculpted with his famous technique, the non-finito. From here it’s a short walk to Piazza del Duomo, where we can admire the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore with its colored marble panels in various shades of green and pink bordered by white, crowned by the famous Brunelleschi’s Dome, the Giotto’s Bell Tower and the Baptistery of St. John which beauty is increased by the famous Gate of Paradise. The wonderful colours of the mosaics that cover the religious center of Florence contrast with the buildings that we discover while walking through the oldest part of the city to reach Piazza della Signoria, the political center of the city, where towers Palazzo Vecchio. Passed the courtyard of the illustrious Gallery of the Uffizi we are now on the lungarno, the road that runs along the river Arno, where you have the most splendid view of the Ponte Vecchio. You now have some time to enjoy your lunch, tasting the traditional specialities of Tuscany. In the afternoon we will visit together one of the world’s most important museum, that held between its wall masterpieces by Lippi, Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci, Giotto: The Uffizi Gallery. After visiting the beauties of the Gallery, we are now ready to be overwhelmed by the imposing Church of Santa Croce, where in the inside we can visit the tombs of the greatest figures that lived in Florence and that made History, such as: Michelangelo Buonarroti and Galileo Galilei.
